What is Slack?
Slack is a powerful communication platform that brings people together for seamless collaboration within communities, teams and organisations — a virtual workspace where members connect, share ideas and work effectively. Use it on desktop, in the browser, or as a mobile app.
Who is it for?
This community is exclusively for professionals working in the job board and digital job advertising industry.

Job advertising platforms offering job search to candidates and/or charging employers and recruiters to advertise postings — including aggregators, job search engines and programmatic companies.

Companies that specifically supply products and services to job boards or job advertising platforms.

Recruiters, hiring companies, job seekers or general service providers outside the job board and digital job advertising ecosystem.
How to join
Complete the form to request access. Please use your company email address — requests submitted with a personal address such as Gmail or Hotmail cannot be approved.
How we Slack
We do our best to create good communication habits that maximise flow and minimise stress. These are the most important ones.

Find the right channel
Join the channels most relevant to your conversation. Two private channels are available on request: #just-for-job-boards (no vendors or clients) and #niche-job-boards-only (for tight sector or geographic niches). Keep conversations in public channels where possible so everyone stays on the same page.

Advertising isn’t appropriate
Recommendations are welcome, but please don’t promote your own business. Contact louiseg@jobboardsconnect.com to learn about advertising and sponsorship opportunities.

Always use threads
Treat Slack as a threaded conversation platform, not a chat. Reply via “start a thread” to keep context close and conversations organised — in channels and direct messages alike.

Use emoji reactions

Debate, critique and tone
Thoughtful debate is encouraged. Avoid dismissive phrasing, aim to build rather than block, and assume good intent — phrase feedback with curiosity to keep the environment constructive.

Words we don’t use
Avoid “guys” for mixed groups (say folks, people, everyone), words describing a person’s age, words like crazy or insane to describe people, and disability idioms used as insults.

Swear words
Swearing is a natural part of expression, but not everyone is comfortable with profanity. Use with caution — and **’s work fine to show emotion without the word itself.
